Power steering system

So, I finally have to replace the power steering rack in my 2002 325xiT. The main symptom that is causing me to replace the rack is kind of "notchy" steering at low speeds... my mechanic thinks it's fluid slipping past the seals in the rack.

I have found several sources of remanufactured racks at "reasonable" prices thanks to previous posts in this forum.

My question is that at 120k should I go ahead an replace the power steering pump too? I have no indication that the pump is bad, just that it's got lots of miles and we're mucking around in there anyway.

What about the hydraulic lines?
