CES MOTORSPORT Preliminary testing of new steedspeed twinscroll bottom mount GTX35R

We have been working hard to get ready for the 1/2 mile event coming up this weekend in Florida, and we finally got the chance to get the new Steedspeed twinscroll bottom mount GTX35R turbo car on the dyno to get her tuned up for the 1/2 mile event. Very pleased with the numbers and spool characteristics of the new manifold, and also how well it holds power up top too. She should run some good times this weekend :buttrock The last 1/2 mile event, the best time we did was 168.5 mph, running a little over 600whp at 3000' elevation.

Since we dynoed on MS109 fuel to maximize power for the event, the comparison dyno graph attached is not an apples to apples comparison, but it does give an idea of the quickness in boost response and low end power, as well as top end when compared to our 4094R turbo kit (courtesy of bimmerforum member and customer Alex J. :redspot) with the old steed manifold running 93 octane and 50/50 meth and similar boost level... The third graph highlights the old steedspeed manifold with the same GTX35R turbo and housing on 100 octane when we had her tuned for the last 1/2 mile event vs the new setup on MS109.

The new steed twinscroll features a single turbosmart hypergate 45mm wg. The GTX35R turbo is running a 1.06 ar exhaust housing open T4 flange. The only split flange housing we had was a T3 which we could not use to get a complete twin scroll effect, but still impressive results so far. Once we get back, we will get the car setup for a street tune on 93 octane and 50/50 meth to make a better comparison of the actual improvements we see just from the manifold alone... but so far the results look very promising! This is all prototype piping on the car since we do need to make some adjustments to the manifold to center the turbo better and to accommodate larger frame turbos better as well. We'll see how she does! :D For those interested in STD conversion numbers... they are 713.45whp and 686.28wtq

UPDATED... Here are some pictures of the car prepped with a new cage and underpanels for the 1/2 mile run! Please contact us if you are interested in underpanels or cages for your E36!
