Recently sold my 2.8 Coupe to another forum member and I am having serious withdrawals. It's only been about an month since she was sold but I find myself on the buyers guides looking at M and non M coupes almost daily :(
I sold her because I have been engaged for two years and the wedding has been on the back burner mainly because I own 3 cars and maintain 2 other cars that I am the care taker of and it's financially draining.
So now that the Z3 is sold I am finally going to finish my SBC swap into my Grandfathers 97 S10 that I intend to keep as my only car and be my daily until after the wedding.
The soon to be wife made an agreement with me that if I sell all my toys that I can purchase whatever car I want (within reason) no questions asked after the wedding!
With that said I've been wasting many hours of my life looking and researching what the next car might be. I've even been test driving all kinds of cars :P and for some reason nothing is really making me forget about my Coupe. I thought for sure that after I drove a Z4 M Coupe or a 997/987 S that I would forget about the Z3 but having driven them + many others I find myself gravitating back to the Z3 Coupe and not really falling in love with anything else.
In the meantime I've been daily driving one of these:
Other than the hurst short shifter and the v8 sound at WOT I can't really think of anything that I like about it. It's brash/vulgar and it's a major lemon party magnet. Due to some odd circumstances I acquired it through someone's divorce but it will be going away in the next month or so.
I am also the care taker of a 993 which I only take out about once a month in an attempt to keep the mileage down.
I've said it before and I'll say it again.... I'm not quite sure what all the hype is about 993's. It's a beautiful car to look at but in most cases I always preferred to drive my lowly 2.8 Coupe. In the meantime though the 993 will have to be the methadone to my Coupe addiction.
With that said at this point I'm pretty sure that I'll be picking up another Coupe in the next year. Hopefully sooner than later. After the full deposit is made for the wedding I'll be like a crackhead who just got his 1st of the month check :D
