Well, it's been too long since I've driven my car and I need some help with my swap. The parts that I have now are:
cxracing swap kit: engine mounts, trans mount, headers
5.3l flex fuel from 2002 suburban
t56 from 2000 trans am with hurst short throw
stand alone harness from http://ift.tt/1yEplBw
truck ecu tuned with vats/rear 02 removed from www.ls-solutions.net
1994 325i convertible 5 speed with cold weather package
The only thing i no longer have is the original engine and transmission. I have kept the wiring harness from the engine. Where I'm having an issue with my swap is the clutch lines, and power steering lines. If I have read correctly, there are two versions of the clutch master cylinder, the later model I can turn the end that goes into the master cylinder. My car predates that, so I would like to know what my options are for this? Replace with a newer model master cylinder, or how can I adapt the line on the firewall to the throwout bearing?
As far as the wiring goes, I understand the process is using the x20 connector, but it seems like some people are using the factory bmw relays and trimming down the ls1 harness. My harness is a stand alone with new relays for 2 fans and one for the fuel pump. If i wire my engine through the x20 connector, would I technically be wiring through two relays now?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
