Finally finished my first timing belt change today, she fired up right away and the engine sounds great! But I'm getting a metallic knocking sound from I THINK the area of the lower timing cover, it sounds like a nut or bolt rattling around. Very present at idle, basically goes away at high speeds. I'm very confused because I'm super-paranoid about leaving things in the engine and I have all my parts accounted for. Is there anything known for breaking off and rattling around in there? The only thing I can think of would be the plastic clips that hold the wire protector to the outside of the timing cover, but this is a distinctly metallic sound. I certainly didn't notice anything when I turned the engine over by had to make sure everything was lining up. Just wondering if anyone's experienced anything like this before before I go and tear everything apart AGAIN, aargh.....
Something knocking around in timing cover?
