Hi all,
I know this has been discussed many times but I can't seem to find straight answers.
When my 1.8 stops working I want to put a bigger engine in. I am in the position to buy an engine now and put it on an engine stand in the corner of my workshop and rebuild it for when I need it.
From what I have read the easiest and quickest engine to swap with is a 2.5 m50b25 but I want someone to tell me for definite. From what I have read my gearbox with bolt straight on but I may need to swap the front part of the prop due to the 6 cylinder siting back slughtly. I know my diff is weaker but it will run for a while.
I'm sure my car is non EWS so I can use a red label ECU and all should work.
Can someone supply a solid list of the things I need to fit the engine to my car.
What I understand so far is I need:
Engine
Engine loom
ECU
All ancillaries
Mounts (because they are stronger)
Front half of prop?
Instrument cluster (not a necessity)
Any help will be appreciated
Jake
