OK,
One of the things I feared most with this vehicle is a bad DISA and the possibility the pin would go into the engine and then....Ka-boom.
What prompted me to replace it was , when I took the oil dipstick out while the engine was running, the DISA began to make knocking/flapping noises.
Removed the old one and did the vacuum check, it seems OK ( holds 45* when the hole is covered). Newly installed DISA does the same thing when the dipstick is removed???
What would cause this, CCV? Is it normal operating procedure for the DISA.
Since the vacuum in the old unit is OK, I'm planning on doing the upgrade and reinstalling it, so I never have to worry again.
