1989 BMW 325i sedan track car / partially prepped Spec e30 car

1989 BMW 325i sedan track car / partially prepped Spec e30 car

$6,500 OBO

Up for sale is my beloved 1989 e30 sedan. I purchased this as a solid street car at the end of 2005. This was a Georgia car it?s entire life until I brought it to Maryland. I even have the original 1989 owner?s manual and pamphlets, including the original window sticker and dealer info. This was built as a HPDE / track car geared towards the NASA Spec e30 race series. It is partially prepped for this series, but will need further work if it were to be used for that. I have detailed records of all work and maintenance completed on this car and I am very honest and open about anything it needs to my knowledge.

I have driven this on track 13 weekends with different organizations and a few autox events. For the most part, the car has been quite reliable on the track. I have never had any major engine, transmission, clutch, or driveline issues/failures.

All of the events I did were between 2006 and 2010. The car has been in storage at my house and garaged 100% of the time since 2010. I start it regularly and move it around. The battery is on a charger/conditioner so it always starts. Oil has been changed during this storage time.

This car comes with tons of spare parts (email for full list) and two additional sets of wheels. I really hate to sell this car, but I no longer have the time to dedicate to it. It?s a great platform to learn on-track driving and is fairly inexpensive to run and maintain.

Pictures, a maintenance spreadsheet, and a folder of paper documents can be shared. Email me for more information and any questions.

-Title in hand

-230,000 + miles. The odometer was broken when I got it (very common e30 issue). Car currently has a gauge cluster with 188,000 miles showing (also broken).

-Lots of maintenance items completed (with recorded date completed) not necessarily listed here

-Stock engine, air intake, transmission, shifter, differential

-Suspension: Bilstein sport shocks, H&R race springs, Ireland Engineering front and rear sway bars with rear welded tabs, rear shock mount reinforcements

-Front stock control arms with Power Flex bushings

-I have a brand new set of rear Power Flex bushings-not installed

-Poly engine mounts

-New transmission mounts

-New guibo flex disc on driveshaft

-SS Bimmerworld brake lines

-Carbotech XP-8 front pads

-Brake cooling ducts

-Power steering delete

-Air conditioning system delete

-Lug stud conversion

-Car was self-painted a sapphire metallic blue. I also re-painted the black trim. The paint job is fine for a track car and looks much better than before. It is not perfect or glass smooth.

Interior

-Custom welded in roll-bar by Brett Hamilton in Powhatan, VA

-Custom welded fixed sunroof panel

-Custom fabricated oil pan skid plate- removable

-Custom fabricated battery tie-down bar

-Sparco circuit driver?s seat with side head protection and sliding adjustment

-Sabelt passenger seat, fixed

-G-Force 6 point quick release harnesses

-?wink? rear view mirror

-Removable front windows

-Interior completely gutted except for dash

Known issues and needs

-Odometer is broken as mentioned above

-Fuel gauge is not accurate and doesn?t always work

-There is a small hole in the passenger floor that needs to be cut out and repaired- this is the only floor pan or body rust I am aware of and is very minor

-The Hankook r-comp tires on the track wheels are old at this point and were flat spotted the last time I drove on them

-The tires currently on the car are worn out as well, and are just the set I use for storage and moving it around

-The stock muffler is beginning to rust but doesn?t require immediate replacement

-Windows do not roll down. The front two windows are manually removable and held in with bolts

-Heat does not work

-The inner rear brake lines are older SS ones, but I didn?t replace them with the new Bimmerworld lines. I have these BW lines and they will come with the car- I recommend installing them

-Front plastic stock ?splitter? trim piece is broken
