I'm one lucky sob tonight 4 of the 5 lugs broke off

I'm one lucky sob tonight :)

i just had new tires put on my car the other day and today was the first trip ( back to work) I was 300 miles into my 400 mile trip when I started to get a strange vibration coming from the drivers side rear tire at first I figured it was just the tire out of balance so I pulled off the freeway which I was doing 80mph. When I came to a stop at the stop sign on the off ramp I went to go and the tire fell off. I got lucky and one of the lugs didn't break off and was still in the hole just about ready to fall out and 2 other lugs were laying right next to the tire but they were broke off. So I as able to jack the car up and install the one lug just enough to limp the car about 100 yards to a gas station and call a tow truck.



I think what happened was the tire shop ( les Shwab in Denver ) over torqued the lugs and they broke, luckily I pulled off the freeway before it came apart. In the morning I'm going to have the dealer in grand island, NE fix the lugs and replace every lug on all the wheels so I don't have that happen again
