Driving with the tapping noise

What are the downsides to driving with a tapping noise in the engine? My issue is similar to what is described below. I changed my vanos seals 6 months ago and since then the noise has developed.

Today I checked to see if one of my spark plugs were loose. The noise persist. will the vanos bearing just die one day? Thanks.
