E36 WTB: Euro 6 speed trans for E36

I'd like to do a 6 speed swap without having to switch to the e46 M3 clutch and flywheel setup being that my s52 setup is brand new. If you have one for sale, please PM me. I have the money waiting for said part, just haven't been able to find one. Thanks!

Unusual suspension swap

Hi all,

OK, so I have my old 523i (which will soon be sold), and my "new" 530i (which I love).

Currently, the suspension is as follows:

- 523i has stock springs (non-sport), completely refreshed with Bilstein HD and all new rubber bits/bearings. Refresh done only 20k km ago. I love the ride.

- 530i has stock (original) M-sport II suspension.

I would like to swap everything between the cars, EXCEPT the springs. That is, the 530i will end up with Bilstein HD and M-sport II springs. The 523i will end up with non-sport springs and M-sport II shocks.

Will either car have problems with this setup?

Track day @ Gingerman Raceway April 4th

My club is hosting a track day at Gingerman Raceway on April 4th. They are not looking to make a buck, just to have a nice uncluttered track day with lots of track time. Let me know if you have any questions.

April 4th at Gingerman Raceway. This event will have very little cars compared to a normal track day. Lots of time on track too.

Cost

200 dollars due February 28th. Price goes up to 225 after this date. Payment can be made with cash or on Motorsportsreg.com

Format

Your car will be teched by a PAPA member. Track goes hot at 8:30. Drivers meeting at 8:00. Event schedule will be released later. 20 minute sessions around 2 hours of track time. There will be 3 classes. Two novice and one intermediate class. People deemed in the intermediate class has the option to run in a novice class instead.

Rules

Passing-There is no passing in the turns. You can only pass another moving car on the track with a point bye. Passing car must go offline to pass.

Front windows must be open on track.

Some Thoughts About using Fluid Extractor

I've been using a fluid extractor since this summer and I thought I'd share a small review about this relatively inexpensive unit (not affiliated in any way).

Had it at my door for less than $50 shipped.

Some of the reasons I bought this unit:

Inexpensive

All metal construction. This is a major plus since some plastic fluid extractors are known to implode under vacuum

2 Gallon Capacity

Compact size

I always changed the oil using normal method (using oil drain plug). However, I've been intrigued by how using the fluid extractor, you don't have to get under the car to change the oil for our BMWs, since the oil filter is changed from the top.

Anyway, the fluid extractor I bought works well for both E34 and E39, since the supplied tube is the perfect size for the dipstick hole. It is about half times as slow as the drain method. I usually set this up first then change the oil filter, and it completes its job by the time I'm done with changing the filter and doing usual checks around the car.

I also used this for other fluid changes, like sucking out the fluid out of brake reservoirs and p/s reservoirs. I cleaned the hose each time when using for different type of fluids. It has multitude of other uses(boats, farm equipment, cleaning up spills around the house, etc).

For less fortunate folks like me who doesn't have a garage and works on their cars outside, this is a neat tool to have.

Another advantage that once I'm done with oil change, I just screw the caps on to store the oil, and I simply carry it as is to any place that takes used oil.

The rears weigh 17.2 lbs.

No curb rash or bends. On wheel #2, the diamond anthracite needs to be touched up but it is not curb rash.
