1997 528i, jap spec , It will start very well when cold, and when driving is great. Once at temp, if I turn her off , its very hard to start. Splutters to life and feels slightly sluggish driving. Idles fine always , but feels a little rough below 1500rpm if I blip the throttle, I've just bought her so I've done the following: new plugs, new air filter, new fuel filter, cleaned icv, cleaned maf, replaced pcv with good one. Im picking crank position sensor out of whack when its warm. Changed out cam sensor for a replacement, no change in starting whilst warm. No cel light but I'm suspect on its operation . I unplugged maf, and started car, and it didn't light up. Opinions welcome!

730i V8 M60B30 : Some strange engine problems

Hi guys,





This is my first post here, I'm French and my English is not very good, but I'm reading the forum every day... :) I'm the owner of a beautiful 730i M60B30 manual, but I actually have some problems with it. Let me give you a quite exhaustive list om these :





- The start up is quite long, I think I have to keep the key on ignition about 3 seconds before the motor wakes up

- I've got a huge fuel consumption (about 30% more than normal)

- There are some explosions in the exhaust when I release the accelerator pedal

- When I'm driving at 2000/2500rpm, even with cruise control ON, the engine seems to shake a bit, or being quite unstable

- When I'm driving at 2000/2500rpm, and I put full throttle, there is a delay of 0,5s when the motor seems to strangle a bit, after that the acceleration is OK with some random little cutoffs

- The 2 last times I tried to start the car, after 4-5 days of inactivity, I had to insist 1 minute before the engine start up... After that there were some seconds where the engine was running rough, and finally it was running good. If I shut the engine off after that, and I try to start up again, everything's good !





Does anybody have an idea ? I'm really lost actually...

need help with building M50 NON Vanos

Hello, i'm planning to start budget engine build soon, i've m50b25 block with 2.8 rotating assembly and b20 non vanos head(it has 80mm chamber), my opinion looks like this: boring b25 block to 86mm putting 86mm pistons in it (from opel c20xe engine, i can get it cheap here ) 135mm rods m52b28 crank and b20nv head + porting, i know b25 head flows better but this is my only option at this time. i want high cr but i dont want detonation ofcourse, i'm using 95-98RON fuel, will this setup work for me? please dont tell me about buying s50 or something like that, cause in my country s50 costs like 3000$, while setup that i've written here costs me 300-400$ max

E36 Sparco R100 seats

Pair of Sparco R100 seats with dual locking sliders and sparco floor mounts. The seats are black cloth with gray accent. All tilt handles are intact. Driver's seat has more wear than passenger seat.















I am not interested in splitting the floor mounts at this time.

Gas Smell For Exhaust Cause Unknown?

Hey guys,



I have a question, I have a 2006 BMW 330I, everytime the car is started and even when driving when you go smell the exhaust thats coming out, it smells like gas.



These are the work I have done so far:



- Changed Spark Plugs NGK (all of them)

- New Oil Change

- New Air Filter

- New Cabin Filter

- Cleaned the MAF Sensor (with MAF cleaner)



I still get the gas smell, although it goes smoother now, but still, my gas millage is very bad. Im doing like 105KM and my gas tank in the city, and now my gas tank is already at hald way mark, WTF? this is with normal and giving gas sometimes every one in a while. Its doing very bad.



What can be the issue? Does anyone know? Oh ya and I have no check engine light on.

Gas Smell For Exhaust Cause Unknown?

1987 BMW 535is



Mechanically & Structurally sound. Paint is fading on hood, trunk, roof and around windows. Front two seats will eventually need reupholstering and the carpet under the pedals is showing its age.



This car was initially purchased and kept in Florida in the late 80's. I have all original purchase paperwork. I brought this up to NC and use it as a daily driver to work and back. Rides exceptionally smooth, no vibrations. Manual gearbox with no issues. Safe project car. Something someone can take their time on to make their own.



Radio is not currently working. I removed it to add clean out some of the old wiring (Old xm hookup) and haven't had a chance to get back in there and work on it. Nothing major, just wiring. Antenna works perfectly and none of the speakers are blown. I will throw in a perfectly good Alpine head unit w/ harness if whoever buys this would like a CD player instead of the stock receiver.



Other work done to the car includes: M5 clutch replaced at 150k (w/ 60k miles on clutch), Short shifter, lightened flywheel, Bilstein Shocks, H&R sport springs, Mark D'silva performance chip, new starter, Big brake kit from a 740iL, Stainless brake lines, 3.46 rear differential, rebuilt alternator, new radiator, Custom (cat-less) exhaust, K&N Filter, Continental DWS tires all around (75% tread), New fuel filter and fuel pump, new spark plugs. Parking brake doesn't currently work--need the line, pads are all new. Heat does't work, sunroof will tilt--but not slide back and the horn is not currently working. It runs like a champ, sounds great and is very reliable--will start no matter what. Currently have 2 project cars and can't spend enough time on both.



May consider trade for e36 M3. I would expect my car + me paying an additional amount for a solid e36, obviously wouldn't be an even trade.
