Overpriced clutch repair quote

Hey guys I have a 2001 bmw 330ci and I can tell my clutch is getting old and I asked a local bmw shop how much it would cost and the guy quoted me at $3200 for parts and labor. That seems ridiculous to me. Does anyone know how much it should cost or am I about to fork over a ton of money?

Bmw 525d 2008 - transmission fault

Hello,



First time posting on here!



I have a BMW 525D 2008 AUTO which throws up a transmission fault every time I do motorway driving.



It runs fine all the way through the gears until I floor accelerator while in 6th and it drops down to 5th to speed up it throws up 'transmission fault' and goes into limp mode causing me to have to pull over, engine off and straight on and its fine again.



I have tried the typical reset (key in, engine on but not started and accelerator down for a minute until click) which doesn't seem to solve it.



This is a continuous fault and happens every time I kick down and it drops but only in the high gears at higher speeds.



Could someone advise please, very frustrating.:nono

Who else drives their e34 to have fun

I wanted to post what I bought my car for, to drive, not just a museum piece, I just spent well over a year restoring my 530, including a B40 swap, and suspension upgrades, next on the list is a manual swap and better track tires. Who else has a blast in their E34s also?
