Hello fellow Legionnaires!
Well, it's that time of year for late night drives and grilling steaks and what better way to kick it off than an E21 Legion meet for us Colorado folks! I don't think we've tried an E21 gathering out here yet, so this is going to be an interesting time getting everyone on the same page.
The itinerary is not set in stone, as I want to get some feedback from you guys before we make anything final. What I'm thinking is to start out meeting at Ralph Schompp BMW off of Lucent and C470, working our way up some of the better driving roads up the 285 corridor, bomb it out to Jefferson in Park county and stop for a small gathering at the local saloon. To continue the drive for those that want to, we loop back past Pikes Peak on Hwy 24 via Hwy 77 down to Colorado Springs and then disperse. It's a drive that I am all too familiar with and would love to show you guys some of the Colorado Mountain's best kept driving secrets, as well as involving people from CO Springs and Denver.
The other idea is to have a North Leg and South Leg and meet somewhere in between using the same general route as above. A little bit more time conscious approach.
I can help set up the barbecue with food and beverages, but I'd like to know what your gastronomic intake suggestions are. In other words, what do you want to eat and drink?
I'm trying to nail down a date without overlapping any track days or BMWCCA meets and it looks like May 26th is our best bet. If anyone has a more suitable date in mind, let me know!
