Exhaust-side Timing Chain Guide Fitment Issues on S50

So I'm smack in the middle of tearing my motor down for a headgasket and lower timing cover gasket job. When I took the LTC off the intake side timing chain guide was busted, so I ordered another set from FCP. Here's where it gets weird, so hold on.

The PN in this diagram on RealOEM is 11311722654:

The PN on the old part is 1722655955397

But it's ok! Because neither the dealership nor anywhere I search has heard of either of these part numbers. When I looked on FCP they had a Febi part that was partially metal, similar to the part that came off of my car, and then they had an Genuine BMW part that was all plastic.

The part I ordered was the genuine BMW part listed as 11311703717 and said it had "confirmed fitment" on an S50. The Febi part they sell is 11311726503 and also says "confirmed fitment." I bought the genuine one because I figured OEM would be a safer bet, but I guess not.

The problem is where the rail mounts on it's dowel pin, there's a solid 1/2in of extra space behind it compared to the old part which sits flush.

Here's the gap with the new one installed.

Looking at the RealOEM diagram it appears that dowel pin has a nut on it, similar to the dowels for the intake side chain rail, but when I search for that PN, the images that come up just show a plain dowel like the one installed in my car.

Has anyone else run into this? Why is this a documentation black hole?! Should I call FCP and ask them to send me the Febi part and try that one? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
