Spent a couple hours yesterday trying to replace the right exterior door handle on my '95 325is coupe. It went OK (broken handle trim, door panel pulled apart a bit) until I tried to put the new handle in. It wouldn't fit. It didn't seem to seat correctly so the cylinder lock would not come through far enough to allow me thread the lock nut on the outside.
My research has led me to believe that the handles are interchangeable between all E36 (though the cylinder lock is different between my old on and the replacement).
Before I order a brand new one and ditch the used one I'm just curious if anyone else has ran in to this issue?
