My apologies if this was addressed before, I was not able to find the answer...
I'm trying to find a way to connect a GA5166 Head Unit to the factory AMP/speakers on a 2002 BMW X5. No DSP, just a basic factory E53 AMP, part No 66-12-8379376, by Alpine.
The GA5166 does have pre-amp outputs, but unfortunately their signals are pretty low (~2 volt) and the E53 AMP doesn't seem to have gain adjustment knobs.
As a result, the sound level from speakers is quite low even if the head unit volume is set to maximum.
Is my only option to connect the speaker outputs (rather than pre-amp outputs) from the GA5166 to the E53 AMP? If so, what LOCs should I use?
Most LOCs seem to be advertised for connecting the factory HU to the aftermarket AMP, not the aftermarket HU with an internal AMP to the factory AMP - not sure what is the difference though...
