car in for repairs can't wait to get her back

Ok well the Z3 is in for repairs. Dropped her off yesterday. Here's a list of parts getting installed:

- Front Control Arms

- Front Control powerflex bushings

- Koni Yellow adjustable shocks

- New Rear upper mounts

- Install Magnaflow muffler

- Rebuild and adjust rear e-brake

- Replace passenger CV Axle Boot

- Install rear stainless brake line coming from the subframe (I couldn't remove them when I replaced the hoses last time)

- Camshaft position sensor

- Fix oil leak on front of engine

- Fix powers steering leak

Yea it seems like a lot, but the guy specializes in BMW and VW so I trust him. Here in Germany, one thing I really enjoy is the time a car gets worked on. For all this he originally said 1-2 days then said he had to order the flange for the exhaust. Then again I'm sure he does all this all the time. I'm making it so I can remove the magnaflow muffler and install the stock muffler for inspection. So yea when I get the car back it should be amazing to drive now. I've had sachs shocks on the rear and some unkown BMW performance shocks on the front since lowering and they're done, been done, said done, dead. A lot of people ask me "why do you spend so much time on your car?" I have to tell them it's not the car or the driver, it's the experience while driving. That is what I'm improving on. Granted it's a 1.9. But in the future, I foresee an engine swap.

Now to order the parts for a headgasket/clutch replacement for my Jeep. Times have been strange here.....

E36 S52 Lower Timing Chain Tensioner

Lower mileage preferred. Good shape. No issues.

Lemme know what you got.

Finally fixed my vapor seal tonight and stopped my leak ... and (like a boss)

managed to make the rear driver door not want to open any more. Suspect I pushed the door card down onto the lock indicator and it's stronger than I suspected.

:mad

Avant Garde opinions

Hey guys,

So I'm thinking about picking up a set of wheels for my white e36.

I was thinking that I really liked the Avant Garde F141's.

I was gonna go ahead and get a custom set.

So here is where you all come in,

1. I wanted to know all your opinions on AG wheels (Both positive and negative).

2. If I do customize them, what would be your opinion as to the specs that I should run. I'm looking to pick up 18" wheels. Don't want anything really crazy as for width of the wheel so maybe a 18x8.5? And I want to have a nice clean lip on it but nothing too aggressive. What would you think of 18x8.5 ET25???

(If i have to run spacers, I don't mind that.)

3. This is my car currently on 18x8 +40mm square set up.

Thanks a bunch guys! :D

DRL question

Just acquired a 2000 M roadster and imported to Canada-still have to get Safety Inspection before I can put in on the road. Drove it back from Michigan to Northern Ontario with a temp US Plate, no Duty charged, and no issues at either US or Canadian Borders!

Question #1- Has any one installed the Daytime Running Light conversion (A Legal requirement in Canada)

If so, any info you can provide would be appreciated. Also any recent info regarding requirements for a US Car to pass Canadian Safety Standards

Thanks in advance

Pitted Piston

Still useable or no? When I insert the piston in the caliper it does not look to go past the groove for the seal.
