To all the 750 owners

Had a question for our 750 owners and techs. Have a friend with a 01 750il don't know milage, it has what sounds like a TC rattle. 750's don't have VANOS do they?

If not could the TC guides be going? I thought that was rare on 750's?

Any ideas?
