If you have this game get it while it's free!!
With the seventh installment of the Fast and Furious franchise barely a month away from theaters, expect the tie-ins to start arriving, um, fast and furiously. While we wouldn't normally get excited about movie promos, Universal Studios' partnership with Turn 10, the folks behind Forza Horizon 2, is not your typical alliance. That's because it's going to spawn a dedicated Fast and Furious expansion pack for the critically acclaimed sandbox racer. This isn't some mere expansion, though. It's a standalone expansion. That means that it'll be available, free of charge, to anyone with an Xbox One or Xbox 360 and an Internet connection. Of course, it won't be free, full stop. Instead, gamers will have a two-week span, from March 27 to April 10, to snap up the expansion, after which the cost of entry will jump up to $10. Don't fret if you get in after April 10, though, because it sounds like even at that price, the expansion will be well worth the price. You'll be joined in-game by the Furious franchise's Tej Parker, voiced by Chris "Ludacris" Bridges himself. You'll be working with Tej to acquire a range of vehicles for Dominic Toretto and crew by taking part in Fast and Furious-inspired missions. Those vehicles will include Fast and Furious Editions of well-known cars, including three of Toretto's iconic Mopars – the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, 1970 Plymouth Road Runner and 1970 Plymouth Barracuda – as well as a 2012 Nissan GT-R and a 1998 Toyota Supra that would surely be appreciated by the series' late star, Paul Walker. That won't be all the vehicles added to the expansion, though, as Turn 10's own press release lists just "some of the special edition vehicles." "This is a great way to bring Forza players into the world of Fast and Furious, and in Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast and Furious, every fan will get a chance to go wheels-first into the exciting action of the Fast and Furious franchise," Xbox boss Phil Spencer said in a statement. Bill Kispert, executive vice president of worldwide digital platforms, universal partnerships and licensing, echoed Spencer's sentiment. "In this adventure, fans will experience the thrill of the Fast and Furious series' most iconic cars through the amazing gameplay of Forza. We can't think of a better combination for gamers and movie fans alike," Kispert said.
