New wheels, now what tires to get?

I refinished a set of IFG 17x8 wheels and test fitted one today. Car has bc coilovers, but I like a stock ride height. I have new 225/45/17 tires, but what other size would you, could you, run and be ok with? Just trying to get a few ideas before I mount them for good. Thanks
