It's past time that I do the struts/shocks on my 530i, but I've having some difficulty navigating the mix of information out there..
2003 530i Sport, not lowered, not planning to lower, reusing stock (sport package) springs.
From what I've gathered, the OE struts/shocks are basically Sachs, so if you want more of a true "stock replacement", the Sachs are the way to go, but although opinions vary, I've see lots of comments that they don't last that long. As for Bilstein's, they have a better warranty, and from what I've read the B4's (Touring) are the equivalent to the stock. This is a daily driver, not road racing, no plans to lower, just want the stock ride/performance restored.
All said, anyone know for sure what the correct part numbers are for the B4's for an E39 w/sport suspension? Some sites don't list a difference between the std vs sport suspension, others do, so...:dunno:
