1997 BMW 740IL Driver door is double locked and won't open. "Help"

Ok, so all my other doors work with the key in the driver door and the central locking button on the console except my driver side door. When I pull the outside handle; nothing! When I pull the inside handle; it comes up but will not open the door even if I hold the lock tab up. Have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cable, using the central lock button many times as well as the key in the door with no success. Is there a way to get the door open by removing the side panel from the inside or maybe drilling into the actuator from the inside of the door to make it release? At this point I'm looking to try anything before cutting away the complete inside door panel to get to the lock actuator. Still not sure how to release the double lock from the inside once I get to it. :mad
