Sorry in advance as I know its been discussed but I did search and have done lots of reading but not really finding a specific answer on using a 3.0 euro cluster in an OBD2 US M3.
I know some guy bought both a 3.0 and 3.2 and swapped parts back and forth, and I know that I could buy a later 3.2 EVO cluster with coding plug / lower mileage and swap the coding plug from my cluster into that one and have it all working but I don't want kilometers or Celsius...I want the 7k redline, Fahrenheit oil temp and 170mph speedo from the 3.0...ideally without buying 2 and swapping parts back and forth.
So if my car has 135k and I buy a 95M3 3.0 euro cluster with 100k on it...will that work without getting a tamper dot or will I have to have it aligned by a dealer or a speedo shop or will it just not work as it doesn't have the coding plug?
Thanks,
Sam
