how to align the shocks and springs with no spring pads?

I removed the pads from the top and bottom. But when I put the spring on and the top mount on top to tightened it. the the strut mount leans....I have tried several times. How did you lowered guys do it??



I tried on the rears and not the front



I read most of you guys did it and I can't :(
