I am getting a P0456 code (DME error code 92) once in a week. What would be the proper diagnosis before replacing the gas cap? Gas cap looks ok (the rubber ring kind of looks faded, but feels tight). Some other bmw forums suggested that it could be a plastic pipe going from engine back to the fuel tank. What all are the common culprits that i can check before doing a evap smoke test?
It also got lean mixture error on both banks once (P0170 which is E3 in DME and P0173 which is E4 in DME). Reset it and never came back. Checked all intake connections and could not find any leaks.
It doesn't seems to comeback immediately. Takes almost like a week. So it cant be a "purge valve" which is under the manifold?
