hood insulation: sticks on, use plugs, question

On a 98 m3, I need a new hood insulation pad. Does the original stay on with the plugs/clips around the outside of the pad, or is it glued on in the middle, or a combination of both? I saw one on ebay, oem part number that i think I'll get. Thanks for any help.

Universal joint?

I've got a new flex coupling/guibo for my drive shaft. I found out the hard way that the exhaust has to be dropped to replace it. If I'm to drop the exhaust system, I'm going to replace the exhaust hangars, and for the driveshaft I want to replace the CSB and universal joint as well since I'll be in there anyway and it's a pain in the tail to drop the exhaust. I see on RealOEM there is a universal joint listed in the diagram but no part number. I'm also having trouble finding one anywhere online for sale. Does anyone know if there is a metal universal joint, and if so, where I could get one?

Where do the ABS sensors get their info from?

Hi, 1999 735i auto. My ABS kicks in under normal breaking from 20mph or less, i have changed the sensors but no joy. where do the sensors read their information from?

any advice on what to check next would be great

My son just bought a 1993 318i.....we are both excited as this is his first Beemer and the only one in our garage at the moment!



I want to get him some rims as the car came with steel rims and hubcaps and I am not a fan. Local listing is for "style 17, e36 rims, 15 x 7, e47 offset". Question is will these fit his car?

I know there is a faq on this but i just wanted to run this by you guys before i bought parts.

I have studied the faq and several guides to see what can be done. Im leaning towards buying the urethane steering rack bushing but im not sure if that's the problem. During my latest mount balance and alignment the techs noticed that the rack moves from side to side slightly. So i wasnt sure it it was bad mounts or if the bolt holes have been widened by the vibration.
