Fan blows, no air

'99 Compact with Digital HVAC.

After leaving the heat or AC on for a while in my car(usually around an hour) the air begins to blow weaker and weaker until there is no more airflow. I can hear the fan still spinning but there air isn't coming out any of the vents. If I turn the car off and let it sit long enough for the HVAC to reset then it will work fine again for another hour or so.

I'm hypothesizing that air is being blocked from entering the fan or from leaving it.

Low rpm hesitation

Hey guys.. got a problem with my 1994 320i M50b20tu. At low revs or at idle when I stomp on the throttle the revs drop before accelerating. Ive checked for vacuum leaks 3 times already.. dont seem to find any.. what could be the problem?

Here is video of what i mean. Thanks guys

Low rpm hesitation

Alright, I haven't found a solution to my problem.

The check control works fine on the screen, but no OBC information is displayed.

Car is a 97 M3.

I did see something about a stuck stalk button, but the car does not have the stalk push button to change OBC info.

I appreciate the help.

Some Crazy Oil Recommendations

In Australia, it seems, we cannot get our heads around running thinner oils in more modern vehicles, or even using synthetic motor oils for longer oil change intervals and better wear protection.

Right here, I'll go ahead and personally say I'd never support "Penrite" oils in any way, shape or form. In fact, I'd go so far as so rebrand them as "Penrong."

Why?

Well, their marketing hype is based all around using conventional oils AND going thicker than the manufacturers recommendation - i.e. "Use 10w40 in place of 5w30, for better protection." Uh, right...

Today, while researching the delicate topic of oil around the interwebs, I decided to see what they recommend for my particular 1993, 320i with the M50TU (VANOS) motor. When I saw what they recommended, I can tell you I damn near fell off my chair...

From the top of the list, to bottom:

  • (Penrite) HPR30 - 20w60

  • HPR15 - 15w60

  • Racing 15w50

I then checked out a 1970's 3.0 S/CS/CSi, just for comparison. This is even worse:

  • HPR30 - 20w60

  • HPR40 - 25w-75

I cannot believe that anyone would follow these sorts of recommendations for a daily driver, spare maybe a 15w50, as some seem to have good results with the 50 weight oils in hot climates with tick-y motors.

Do some diddling around here if you dare...

Personally, I think I'll stick with my Rotella T6 for now, LOL

Feel free to share some opinions on this, or other "odd weight" recommendations you've seen/heard of for our Bimmers...

INPA Sys 0005 Object Not Found (E36)

Hey guys, been trying to get INPA to talk to my car via the 20 pin connector under hood and it just doesn't want to acknowledge that the car exists.

Any ideas on where to start?

My rear passenger shock is weeping, while the driver side is dry.

Paranoid of imminent failure, I'm looking to source a replacement just-in-case.

Location is 91006 California.

Thanks!
