Car: 1991 535i/5
I've been trying to track down a stutter in my 535i for a while and after reading symptoms that matched mine I decided to check the FPR and see if it was leaking. Sure enough, when I removed the vacuum hose it was full of gas and my FPR was dripping fuel.
Fast forward to today, I just received a new Bosch FPR from Pelican and installed it. I drive the car ~20 miles and it runs perfect. No stutter, accelerates smoothly, and I immediately notice an improvement in fuel economy. I park it for an hour at the coffee shop and on the way home it starts the exact same stutter again. Once I get home I pull the vacuum hose and the new FPR is leaking fuel like crazy.
I can't seem to find an exact instance of my problem on the forums......do you guys think I received a defective part or does my car have something else wrong that could be causing it to blow out the diaphragm of the FPR.
