SLS: to keep or not to keep?

I have an '01 525 Touring with SLS. Car has under 80k. SLS started to sag few months ago. Problem was that it began sagging around the same time as my wife's MB R350 active suspension gave out. Her car gets precedence - got a pair of air shocks from Arnott Industries. Everything works as it should. Now it's my turn.

So, the suspension looks like it finally gone out out. I keep hearing air coming out at left rear wheel but the car is really not coming up. I'd hate to burn out the air pump, so the car has been parked for a month now. 2 questions:

a) should I stick with the SLS or go to a conventional suspension? If going conventional, I plan to upgrade all 4 corners.

b) if decide to stick with SLS ( car is very original and low mile) can some one suggest a source of good air shocks (aftermarket). is it worth the effort and how long will the replacements last under regular driving/low load condition.
