2005 BMW X5 w/Bosch Electronic Stability Control brake issues

Need to know what will happen if you replace the OEM brake pads w/friction material that does not match the profile of the original friction materials, i.e., will it be driver will notice a shorter stopping distance ?, the rotors will exhibit DTV (Disk Thickness Vibration) pulsation in the brake pedal ?,

the stability control will not fuction properly ? or will the caliper hardware break ?

1995 525i Lock Issue

1995 525i 185,000 miles.

Before I take it all apart, is there a way to know for sure whether the problem is the actuator or the electric lock unit? When I hit my fob to lock, it will lock all locks but then the drivers door lock will pop up. The rest remain locked. It also does this when I valet lock the trunk. It is inconsistent. The problem is only with the drivers lock.

I have had prior trunk wire issue and will check that. It all works when I use the key in the drivers door.

WTT: 04 M3 cab with 75k miles Gray/Black for an M Coupe 6 speed

Hey guys,



I have an 04 M3 convertible M/T with approx 75k miles. It's gray with black interior. Overall the car is in great shape and has nothing worth mentioning wrong with it besides the infamous paint flaking on the interior plastic parts which I've been meaning to fix anyways...The car is completely bone stock down to the wheels. I also have a matching hard top that could go with it. I don't drive it hardly at all as I'm not a big fan of convertibles and was wondering if there was anyone who would consider some sort of trade/cash deal for an M Coupe? All years welcome but S54 preferred...

is the e21 world going to be invaded by flippers?

I could go on about what flippers did to the air cooled 911 market, but it would be so long many of you would be searching for the nearest lamp cord to hang yourselves with half way through it so I'll just make this comment...



This appears to be another e21 flipity-do-dah, the car was for sale on St. Louis CL for about $7500. In my weekly nationwide CL search yesterday I noticed it had gone, which didn't surprise me as it seemed like a great deal if it was really in the condition it appeared to be in. Now here it is:

W E65 730D - sometimes does not want to start

Has anyone solved the problem?



I have 2003 730d e65 and sometimes it does not want to start. Once a month it happens to me :-( a few of you suggested to replace IVM but i have no IVM in 730d it is just in petrol cars :( When I put my leg on the brake and turn the ignition, the all car electric power work ,but the engine won't start. Wait 5 - 10 minutes and it start? what sould i do? :( Where can i find integrated supply module in my car and will it help to me? here is the video from my last non start experience :( pressing the start button and car does not start and make alarm sound... no sound of trying to start the engine... :( helps just to wait a few minutes... sorry for my english

Water Pump

The water pump in my 840 is starting to weep, so it's being replaced. Aside from the thermostat and hoses, is there anything else I should consider changing while I'm all up in there?
