Since October is nearing, I decided to post my car up for sale so I can start looking for my next car (I want an E30 that I'll be keeping forever:D)



I just drove it down from NJ to OCMD (4 hour drive) with 0 problems this past weekend. I would trust driving this car anywhere and I'm willing to prove it however that may be. I bought this car back when it had 58,000 miles on it and it's driven great since.



Some little things I've done since owning the car for four years:



-Megan Racing Coilovers

-Borla Exhaust

-Pioneer headunit with bluetooth, usb port, and aux port

-Two brand new pioneer speakers in the trunk

-Bought RC090 wheels that are white



There was one problem when I bought the car and that was what the previous owner before me installed. He decided to install a conversion kit to make it look like an E46 M3. That kit included two front fenders with E46 grilles on them and an E46 front bumper. This past month and a half I have fixed the problem and the only thing that is needed is Arctic Silver paint for just the front bumper. I will show pictures below what it used to look like and what it looks like now. Other than that, there are two rust spots. One by the driver side rear wheel and the other by the trunk opening (pics below). Mechanically, I'm yet to experience any problems and the interior of the car is at least an 8/10.

Camber fitment need help asap!

Eh so I just got some JOM blue line coilovers for my e36 328i and I'm just wondering what kinda camber plate I should be getting and what size I should use I didn't know there was a figment for them till after I tonight they woulda been somewhat universal so my question here is is there measurements people know off by hand they can give me or I strut me what to measure to tell the dealer on what size plates I need or are there only certain brands that are compatable with the coilovers I have

2000 Z3 rear fenders

Hello,

I'm going to look at a 2000 Z3 2.3 (2.5l) to use as a week end car. I know it has the new redesigned fenders.

Since in my future mods I will install wide tires/wheels (for look) I wants to know if the new fenders have the same space and coverage as the original ones. So, do setups that fit a 99 will also fit a 2000?

CLEAN 1985 635i SHARK - New Wheels- great Paint- No Rust- Priced low

Hey Everyone, For sale is a 1985 BMW 635i.. The exterior of this car is in great condition as you can see from the pictures. The seats on these cars usually go bad so they have been replaced with e46 seats which are very comfy. Brand new wheels put on the car. They are 18" Style 5's with brand new rubber and Spacers all around. The wheels, spacers and tires cost me 1800$ and were put on very recently They have about 60 miles on them. New battery also bought on 11/13 from Costco for $107.





Here's some info:

-Motor is the M30 Motor which runs strong . Mileage around 180k

-Cold Air intake

-Clean Title

-Car has sport springs which lower it a bit for a more aggressive look.

-Paint is in excellent condition (can take better pictures if anyone needs.

-Rare Plastic Bumpers which are much more popular and sought after than the ugly metal ones.

- Leaver around button for sunroof has started to peel back. Needs to be re-glued

-The AC works and blows cold air. May need a recharge soon as I dont use the AC much.

Bad:

Leather where sunroof button is needs to be regaled as it has started to peel

Where's my Fuel Filter?

I have been through both the Bentley and the factory service manuals, but neither one of them can be specific of where the fuel filter on my '95 E34 530i Sedan with the M60, factory date 8/95 is located. Reading through numerous posts state it might be in the passenger wheel well, or under the passenger seat. I haven't climbed under the car yet so I guess I'm just looking an a good starting point.

So this was not as simple as just a clear bra installation. The owner had originally had a different x3. When he came by for his consultation the day after he picked it up, we noticed that there was a long scratch the length of the vehicle. Instead of turning their backs on him, they totally took responsibility and bought the car back from him. According to the owner, there was no chance it happened after he picked it up from the dealership. The story was that it must have happened when it was removed from the hauling trailer. It worked out well because the x3 was COVERED with some insane'o swirl marks and scratches from sitting on the lot. So instead of only being able to afford intense paint correction, he should be able to have clear bra installed along with CQuartz Finest.



So here he had a new x3 and wanted it as well protected as possible. My first suggestion was to bring the x3 straight to us and request the dealership leave the shipping film on the car. Obviously, he took the advice to heart! For his new x3, he dodging a huge paint correction bill and only had some minor prep work before the clear bra installation and cquart finest installation.



There was one spot on the fender that had trash in it. We wet sanded it and polished it out before installing clear bra.



We performed a new car prep, clear bra installation over the full hood, full front fenders, front bumper, side mirrors and installed CQuartz Finest over all of the vehicle and clear bra.

2014 Japanese GP @ Suzuka

Favourite track, unlike the Marina Bay street circuit a weekend ago. I think we should have more tracks like the Suzuka. Long sweeping fast hand turns, higher average speeds, the nature of the track should be such that it is more enjoyable to drive and spend a lot less on braking and or braking for the next sharp 90+ degree turn at very low speeds, or having very short straights. That's what I don't like about some of the F1 tracks nowadays. Well, enough of my tantrums, looking forward for a more close battle between the two teammates who are also rivals to each other. It won't be too long before Mercedes will wrap up the championship title as a constructor and that would be a great achievement for them after ... what 7+ decades ago?

X3 2005 Brake Pad warning light

Hi all,

I had wheels rotated on my X3 2005 3.0. Basically, moved the front wheels back and vice versa.



As soon as that was done, I got brake pad warning light came on. Is this likely to happen or just coincidental. Does the sensor have to be reset after wheel rotation?



Can the sensor be reset, if so how is that done?

My car has over 200k miles would it be bad to change the transmission fluid and filter?

When I'm driving it it feels like it wants to slip when its changing gears but it only happens sometimes, also the transmission light comes on and goes away.

Cruise control issue: Please help?

I've spent the last week going through all other threads I can find, so before anyone flames me for not using the search feature, I have to the best of my ability. Someone may have encountered this before, but I have not found the thread. My cruise control light comes on when commanded after turning the vehicle on. I will try to set a speed for it to keep, and the light will turn off in the instrument panel cluster and will not come back on until the vehicle is turned off and turned back on. No other warning lights are on, such as ABS, Trac warning, etc. All electronics seem to be working properly. I removed my CC module and checked the gear for broken teeth. Nothing found. No codes stored in the OBD-2 side of the ECM. I would imagine that a faulty speed sensor would activate warnings for ABS/Trac/etc, even though each one provides signal for a different component. Anyone run into this before, and might be able to point me in the right direction? I appreciate any advice given.

So I have a 1996 740il and wanted to put a cold air intake in it. I'm new to the bmw community and don't know any good websites to buy parts. E32 model emblem placement measurements?

So I'm about to replace my old roundels with new ones, and I thought I'd replace my early 750iL "straight" badge with the later "italic" version.

But what I can't find are the exact measurements needed to place the new badge in the factory position... there's nothing that sticks out more to me on a BMW than a model badge in the wrong spot.



The online TIS's I've looked at don't have the info for the E32, like other models...

2 Repair Instructions -> 51 Body -> 14 Emblems doesn't seem to exist for the E32.



Anyone have the measurements?

If not, I can always take that high resolution image and sort it out, but I'd rather not. Ah well.

Dash lights appearing randomly and low beam issue

Hey guys,



1st issue:

2003 525i... On my gauge cluster when driving I sometimes see the following signs show up and disappear or sometimes stay till I don't shut the car off: Traction Control Off, ABS, BRAKE and one other sign.

Can someone tell me what is the meaning of this?



2nd Issue:

1st my driver side low beam wasn't working and the passenger side was.. not its vice verse. The light sometime turns on but then shuts off after a couple of minutes or even after couple of hour of driving. If i turn the lights off and turn them back on again I can see the bulb turning to power up but it doesn't. I even got a new ballast and i'm having the same issue. I checked all my fuses, everything seems to be in working order. What can I do to fix this. Also I put in new D2S bulbs. Now the driver side low is fine but the passenger side is giving me problems. Can someone please help me.

help please - caliper rebuild

Hi,



I am in the middle of rebuilding my front calipers and it is near impossible to slide the piston back into the caliper. Is there a trick to doing this?



Also, what's the best way to attach the dust cover to the caliper once it's already been attached to the piston? There doesn't seem to be much clearance to work it in there once the piston is partially in the caliper.

DME questions from a novice

So basically I had to swap out my DME. I have a 98 328i and one of the features I love is the immobilizer. I just want to make sure I'm understanding that with a new DME I can't use the immobilizer and there's no way to set up the the new DME to allow for this feature.

81 E21 Front Suspension

Gents,

I have attached the picture of how my front left wheel sits. My observations are:

1) when I brake during cruise at 40-60 miles,I feel pulling of the suspension to right very slightly, its not a wheel pulling but it feels to me like the front suspension compresses but not symmetrically.

2) I had the front on jack and turning the wheel noticed a slight steering gear lash,

3) one of the lower ball joints rubber booth is torn.



I have checked the condition of the bushings and seems to be in good shape.



My questions are:

1) based on my observation and the picture, can someone diagnose what the issue is with the suspension pulling and how could it be fixed?

2) Is it possible to tighten the rack to remove the gear lash, is it supposed to have a slight lash?

3) i have reviewed the FAQ/s regarding upgrading the suspension, however since the car is very original I don't want a major suspension modification/lowering etc. Is there something I can do to slightly improve its stiffness and get a slightly tighter feel without lowering or doing any major changes?

Do I go '00 750il Chromeline or '01 750il Sport?

I currently have an '01 740il, anthracite/black with all the options (chromeline, SEDC, blinds, massaging seats etc), but it has ~165K miles on it and it is getting tired. I love the car, especially the space, but given the mileage spending much more on it isn't a good option for me.



So I've been hunting for a nice 750il for months to replace my car. I have two options and want to get feedback from the forum.



Car #1 - 2000 750il chromeline. Black on Black. 25K miles. One owner (with minor celebrity, supposedly, but no paperwork to confirm). Carfax looks fine. No records outside of carfax. A used car dealer has the car. Dealer has good ratings online. I will need to ship it across the country.



Car #2 - 2001 750il sport. Anthracite (same as my current car) on grey. 46K miles. Two owners. Some records (up to $5K of recent work by known shop from current owner who also has a 911 and seems obsessive). Private sale. Has widescreen Nav and '01 updates like clear corners. I can fly in and drive this one home.



I really wanted a different colour than my 740, which has me leaning towards the 2000. I think black/black has better resale potential in the future as well. But the recent service work and widescreen '01 have appeal. I would prefer chromeline over sport package but could go either way.



I think I can get either car for around $16K. Yes - I know that is a lot but these are unusually low mileage and well kept cars and I want something I can build on over the next 3 years. I prefer close to stock.



Which car would you recommend and why? Do I give up much getting the 2000 other than widescreen (could grab from my 740) and the corners (could also grab from my 740)?

I added my touches to my Coupe back in 2007, and then never really made any other changes/improvements. Well....the time has come for a COMPLETE makeover!



At the end of 2007, here's what I had (as evidenced by my signature):
