Brake Master Cylinder compatibility ABS and non ABS

This is my first post here. I have done a lot of searching online and can't seam to find an answer. I have posted questions on mye28 but no one there seams to have an answer to my question. I'm hoping a larger volume of people see this post and might be able to shed some light. I have a 1982 528e in need of a new master cylinder. The current MC i have installed is non ABS (part no. 34311155270). I'm finding another MC for the e28 that is for an ABS equip e28. The part number for that MC is 34311153919. On realOEM the diagrams are identical so the difference must be internal. I'm not sure if these MC's are interchangeable or maybe possible with slight modification. The reason I have been searching for this answer is because I have been looking at an e32 MC (part no. 34311156643). I would like to restore pedal travel after my big brakes upgrade. The e32 MC is made for a car with ABS. I assume that if I could use an ABS e28 MC on my car than I should be able to use an ABS e32 MC also. Thats how I see it anyway. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
