All of a sudden my belt has started to chirp. At higher RPMS the noise from the belt goes away. I have taken the belt off and checked all pulleys to see if they spin nicely and checked for any play in the pulleys. There is none. I tightened the belt and the noise was a little better but still there. I replaced the belt and the noise went away for a day.
Now I have another sound that seems like a humming that can be heard while at idle. Same day I heard this when I turned my car off it sounded like a jet engine winding down for 7-10 seconds.
I suppose at this rate whatever it is will get bad enough that it will become obvious.
Note: All idler and tensioner pulleys/waterpump/alternator bearings replaced 20K ago. The car has 155K on it.
