Summary: my x5 is not starting and all kinds of icons flashing- shifter malfunction (round shifter knob with exclamation), car on lift (yellow), abs malfunction etc
Turn of events: last drove car 2 days ago and parked in garage since (fuel reserve indicator was on). Today one of the comfort access (CA) key FOB unable to unlock the vehicle, we had seen this before, so changed the FOB battery. The car could be unlocked with that FOB, but would not start when pushing the starter button.
Next (later in the evening) we tried the other FOB (which was usable 2 days ago) - could unlock the car, but starting seeing some abnormal behavior - icon with car on lift, tried to start but it didn't seem the starter engaged, brake pedal difficult to press down in order to start, shifter LED which usually glows green when in park not glowing, the navigation/idrive screen would initialize but then die down.
Daily usage: for the past month and a half generally driven for about 3 miles 5 days a week?
Any suggestions, thoughts?
Should I attempt jump starting?
Anything else I can try?
