Last year i sold my beloved E60 550i due to endless out of warranty issues. Amongst many items, rebuilding the top half of the engine and transmission myself. The transmission never would shift right before or after and finally got fed up and traded it in on a Mini S. The Mini was fun but i just missed the BMW ride, electronics, and especially the power and speed of the 550. So after an E36 325i, E39 530i, E39 528i, E60 550i, I purchased a 2011 E90 335D. Full aftermarket warranty this time. The 335D has 265HP, but 425TQ. I actually surprised the heck out of a challenger today that took me for granted from a stop. Now it is no race car, but i kept him at bay until i hit 65 as i didn't want the ticket.
I have had/have to do the following:
- Made a case for them to replace the front rotors, i had to pay for pads.
- Right front tire was making noise, swapped to the back and ok. (I hate run flats, they all do this)
- During tire rotation noticed rear rotors were scored. Decided just to replace myself than arguing with Service. Technically, it passes inspection so they don't have to.
- I looks like it came from the north, need to get under and pressure wash the chassis. I like my car perfectly clean.
