2004 BMW 545i (E60 chassis) with the powerful 4.4L V8 engine and rare, hard to find 6 speed manual transmission! Yes, this is a manual transmission with a clutch pedal-NOT an SMG or auto/slap shift! Charcoal exterior in good shape for its age, with black leather interior that is also in good shape for its age. Has 136k original miles, and it runs, drives, shifts, and handles like a dream. The mileage will go up slightly as I still drive this (when the weather cooperates). It is LOADED up inside with power windows, power locks, power mirrors, power tilt steering column, power moonroof, heated power leather seats, etc-and EVERYTHING WORKS as it should, with the exception of the driver side seat heater (common problem with these).
I bought this car as a replacement for my E39 530i after I was struck by a girl who ran a red light, while texting, who had no insurance. I then took it straight to my BMW mechanic and had him go all through the car, as I wanted/needed it to be as reliable as possible. Over the course of my ownership he has fixed several oil leaks (including the dreaded alternator "bracket" seal, valve cover gaskets, various O Rings, etc), engine coolant change, and also had a "full" tune up-new spark plugs, new crankcase ventilators (updated designs) and done the regular maintance as well (oil changes sooner than BMW recommends). Allparts used are O.E. BMW or equal quailty. I also had 2 new Michelin rear tires installed to match the almost new front tires. The car runs very well, and there should be no mechanical needs anytime in the near future. The transmission shifts very smooth, and the clutch does not slip at all (under any circumstance you may try). The steering and suspension is nice and tight, and it is optioned with the Dynamic drive (stiffens steering as speed increases-and yes, you can REALLY tell a difference!)
The body is in good shape, and it originally came from the south so there is no rust on it, and hardly and surface rust on the undercarriage like most. I do not drive it in the snow, and try and avoid the roads if there is any salt on them at all. There are a few sratches, dings and rock chips assosciated with the age and mileage, but nothing crazy. There is on very small chip in the front windshield on the passenger side, toward the top-not in anyones view and hasn't gotten any bigger since being chipped. The 18" staggered alloy wheels are all in great cosmetic shape and are all structually sound. The Michelin Pilot AS2 tires (245/40/18 front, 285/35/18 rear) are all in great shape as I stated earlier with 80% or better tread life remaining.
The black leather interior again is in good shape with no major blemishes, but does have some wear on the driver seat bolster from sliding in and out; the driver seat heater is faulty; and the passenger side cup holder nearest the passenger window is missing the "release" button, but will still operate just fine with a pinky finger! All power options work as they should (including the moonroof); the factory stereo sounds great-no blown speakers or "fuzzy" sound at loud volume. The shift knob is showing wear as well.
Overall, this is a super reliable Beemer, in a RARE and hard to find 6 speed manual, and color combo that is ready to hit the road, and give its new owner many more faithful miles. I am asking $8750 obo for this BMW, and would be happy to listen to a fair offer once somebody has seen the car IN PERSON. Please, SERIOUS buyers only. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and thanks for looking. (9 3 7) two71-five 493 Matt. Car is located in Tipp City, OH 45371.
