As some are aware, the convertible came (not sure if all years) with a locking door that's tied into central locking and the ZKE IV body control module. Depending on the lock input, the glovebox locks and unlocks with rest of the central locking items. There are actually 3 sets of lock/unlock inputs.
1. Console switch - Lock request locks the doors but not the glove box. Unlock request opens all.
2. Door key switch - Lock request locks the doors AND the glove box. Unlock request opens all.
3. Alarm inputs - Here's where I have a question. On my car, the alarm inputs behave like the console switch and do not lock the glove box. (This is an after market alarm but it uses the same trigger wires as the factory alarm.) However I think they should behave like the doors and lock the glove box. Am I nuts here? Is this a programmable setting?
Thanks for any help.
