Tips for reliable m50 turbo engine build

I have a bmw e36 with a m50 turbo engine, used for drifting.

Had a valve that did not like the rpm, so a new engine build is neccessary.

Specs as it was:

m50 block 84.5

m54b30 crank

cp pistons 8.5:1 comp

ppf forged con rods

m52 head with uprated springs and m50 intake cams on exhaust and intake side.

custum alu intake

custom top mount turbo manifold

precision 6766 turbo

1 piston and 1 conrod, block, and top is trash.

What should I do to get the engine as reliable as possible?

Will a smaller turbo (=earlier spool) be more destructive?

What killed the engine was a fault in the 6mm valves, which supposedly is joined/welded together.

7mm m50 non vanos has a 1 piece design.

Should I go with stock m50 head, or get race valves for the m52 head? (vanos is not in use.)

Engine will see alot of rev limiter.

what rpm should it be set to?

Oil pump is 3 years old, should that be switched? never heard of a oilpump fail on a stock engine.

Any other inputs?

Thanks in advance for replies!* :)
