Are used control arms a terrible idea ?

This past month I replaced my control arm bushings and the car handled much better than it had before. But now I'm getting the dreaded pirate ship creeking noise so it lead me to believe I need new ball joints / control arms. I found someone parting out a 325xi and his control arms would fit my car fine. Is it a terrible idea to do for 100 bucks. Any feedback is helpful. Thanks
