Hey Guys and Girls (if any)..
I have owned a 2007 BMW 530xi for about a year now. When I first got the car I purchased HAWK Ceramic Brake pads (the ones that come in the yellow box) and the StopTech drilled rotor combo. I went on for about a year with no issues. No squeaking or anything. I did NOT put any grease on the back of the pads or anything I installed them as in and didn’t have any issues. Back in June it was time to replace my pads. 1st I replaced the rotors, I ordered the same StopTech drilled rotors however the squeaking continued. I the n replaced the brake pads for the same brand/model hawk pads and they still squeaked. I overlooked the squeaking for a couple of weeks thinking it was normal and maybe they just needed to pass the “break in” stage. Well, 3 months later the issue still continues. This past Saturday I replaced the pads for Centric Posi Quiet ceramic brake pads and they STILL squeak. I have spent money on 2 different pads and rotors and am having a hard time swallowing the “get another set of brake pads” pill. Does anyone know what the issue might be? Also I am getting some winding noise like a low hiss from my driver’s side but the mechanic can’t seem to pinpoint the issue. He said my ball joints, bushings, and everything else looked ok. Brake fluid filled etc etc…
My other issue is my brake lamps. Apparently my bmw is picking them up as being out but when I break they clearly turn on. Ive changed them and I still get the same ‘right and left brake lamp malfunction is out” control message.
