Picked up a junkyard DME today as I lost the factory chip for my car (doesn't seem to want to pass with Dinan chip, even though it's CARB cert). It will start for the first time, but if you restart it again, it will start then stall. When you try to start for the third time, there won't be any spark/fuel. The first time this happened, I did a battery reset and got it to start. But then on 2nd restart it stalled again and then I couldn't get it to fire after that.
When it was running the CEL was flashing wildly, but the engine was running great. There was zero warning before each stall
Any ideas? Does anyone around here have a working DME I could borrow for just a few days so I can smog my car?
