HI folks:
We all like nice toasty buns but when they are yours its not so pleasant. I turned on the seat heaters in my 2003 e66. I was waiting in car. I thought "hey I'll get the passenger seat warmed up for my son when he gets int eh passenger side."
You know whats coming...
after about 2 minutes he opens the door and we both smell something is cooking. Definitely electrical. I turned the seat off and then about 5 minutes later trieed it again on low heat. Same thing.
So.... question.
Just some sort of resister or ballast that has gone? there does not appear to be any burn through on seat.
I'm thinking it will be easy to find
If it was just the actual seat element that had shorted I think it would have burned through already.
Any thoughts what i should take a peak at?
I'm in canada. I would really like to have the heated seat working.
I asked BMW they say no recall
Cheers scott
