2001 325iT wagon- a good buy?

Hello! I am considering my first BMW purchase and have been eyeing a 325i touring wagon. It has about 157000 miles. Is this a decent buy? I would like to do work on it myself. I consider myself slightly more than a beginner (beginner plus?), but not an expert. Is this model a decent car to work on? Any major issues to look at or ask?
