Front shocks/strut question

Hey again,



2002 BMW 330xi, automatic.



I could use some help as I did a dumb move.

I'm replacing both front shocks on my 330xi, the old ones were worn out and had to go. Replacing also the upper mounts/bearings.



The new shocks did not come with the lower spring seats, not sure if that is the right word for it?! It's the bottom rest where the rubber cushion and the spring sit on. Which means the part has to be transferred from the old shock to the new shock. No problem, except, I didn't pay attention to the direction the seat was on the shock. Is the pointed end of the oval to the rear, pointing outwards when the shock is in place?



And what is the torque specifications for the nut attaching the shock assembly to the upper mount?
