Vanos Question

Well,,never thought I'd find myself in this boat,,for those who haven't been around long,,I was one of the first to Change out Vanos seals, back when this Mod first came into being.

My engine would go crazy each year when the weather got cold ,on first stat up in the AM. The car would just sit and shake, and one would have to feather the gas for a short while to keep the engine running. This was with around 12,000 miles on the car, which was purchased new. Lived with the problem ,until the car had 100,000 miles on her,,and this was about the time that Raj, brought out his new seal mod. Installed the seals,,and never had a problem again,,,never. That engine though, burnt a valve at 270,000 miles. Instead of removing the head and making the fix,I purchased an engine , that had 55,000 miles and a tranny as well. This newer engine has been great, no problems,,smooth as silk,,except a slight stumble at idle when starting up,,in even warm weather. I replaced the CCV valve last week and found that it had been replaced once before--I could tell, because the pipe from the valve cover to the CCV was replaced backwards--or upside down,,which I guess is Ok but it did tell me,,that wasn't original. After doing the work,,car is smooth , no more problems starting up....When really getting on it though, I notice a bit --just a small bit mind you--not like a skip--but like it's being held back when getting on it really hard--say above 4 grand on the tach---I'm wondering if the engine ever had the Vanos seals changed,,and the question too all out there--did anyone ever change out the seals,,that didn't have the ,,tell,,tell signs of bad vanos seals,,but still had the good benifits ,of power and felt the change afterwards? With engine running smooth now--don't know to go in for the surgery or not.
