How do I remove/bypass the heater core??

I have a busted heater core on my 1997 BMW 528I. and i need to find out how to remove it to replace it. And until i can replace it, how do i bypass it?? There are three tubes that go to the firewall, do I connect them all?? im sure i can figure it out myself but i just want some advice. especially on how to remove the heater core. Thank you for your help.
