Trans message on MID

I got the Trans Failsafe message earlier today. It's an 02 530i. The message came on when I was on the highway doing 55 mph in a snowstorm. I have no CEL light on and it seems to drive fine off the highway. It shifts fine and the alternator was changed for a refurb OEM unit September of last year. Any ideas?



I did a search before I posted and didn't see anything related to my issue.
