Black Leatherette Seats and Black Leather

I have a somewhat general question about how to live with black vinyl seats and other black leather.



My car is a 1996 BMW 318 convertible. I have black leatherette seats and leater steering wheel and shifter cover. I would like to restore and protect the vinyl seats and leather steering wheel. There are no rips but the color is worn in some areas. I was hoping somebody could recommend a good product to effectively color worn areas and protect the seats and steering wheel cover.



I might also consider covering the seats and was looking for suggestions. If the weather is good, I would prefer to leave the top down, but I am worried about the seats baking in the sun. Are there any good seat cover alternatives that are comfortable and look good. Would prefer to keep the color black, but I haven't seen any alternatives to consider other options.



This will be my first summer with this car.
